My Happiest Thoughts

If in doubt, write it out!

Welcome to my site weary traveller

Einstein called the thought that led him to the General Theory of Relativity “the happiest thought of my life”. I am no Einstein, but I too have had thoughts that have made my life easier professionally, and happier personally.

I am a retired physicist, who now finally has the time to formulate and share some of what I consider to be some of my most useful thoughts. These range over a variety of topics, some of which are related to my work professionally, others which relate to other topics which have had an impact on my thinking and lifestyle. These include physics, mathematics, philosophy, history, and biblical studies. Obviously, my ideas are most reliable in physics and mathematics, but I also have had to investigate and develop my ideas in the other fields mentioned, simply because they impacted my thinking, world view and lifestyle.

In physics, I have worked through a variety of important fields. Over many years, I have developed several useful courses (or so my students have described them). I will slowly make these available for download on this site as the occasion arises.

In mathematics, I developed a very special interest in the work of Elie Cartan and the unique methods and insights that his published work affords. Most of his works are available only in French. I have thus taken the trouble to translate some of these into English. Some of these translations will be made available for download on this site. I have discovered that Cartan's insights on a variety of topics are very different from those of other mathematicians and physicists, and that they are nowhere represented in the English literature. I will be discussing some of these in a variety of posts.

I will mostly focus on Differential Geometry and Mathematics. I also plan on having some sections on philosophy and some religion opinions.
